Wanna read about Left Behind? Here's an essay from Harper's, by Arkansan Gene Lyons. Or, here's a Bill Moyers essay, about rapturism and whatnot, which appeared in the New York Review of Books. Perhaps you'd like to read some blog entries from a 'progressive evangelical' who, page by page, tears apart the bullshit theology and extremely bad writing (though he seems to lose the stomach for it about 70 pages in). Bam.

Too highbrow? Here's a Newsweek profile of Jenkins and LaHaye. Here's a Christiantiy Today profile of Jenkins (tidbit: he writes about twenty pages a day, finishing a novel in 21 days). How about a Slate article comparing LB to Harry Potter? Here it is (and more from Slate). See also this Mefi post, which touched this whole thing off. Well, that and the movie. And working in a public library. Library patrons love that shit.
